First Live Stream was a Success

It worked. When you do something for the first time with technology new to you, being able to say “it worked” afterwards makes all the difference. Not only is it repeatable, but now the confidence comes along for the ride in future endeavors.

Yesterday was the first time I’ve tried hosting a live stream using StreamYard going to YouTube. I’ve participated in many of them on StreamYard, and run live streams with other software in the past, but this was the first of many I’ll be running myself using StreamYard. I have to say, I was surprised by how easy it was.

Using a free account, many of the key features I’ll need aren’t available, but at its most basic it got the job done. The session started on time, I had viewers, and the recording was automatically captured by my YouTube channel. Overall, it worked.

As I mentioned I have more sessions coming. Some will be public, some will be private for members of the Personal Productivity Club, and others will be specific for my paid clients. In the end, knowing the technology will work to do what I need, and the results are repeatable goes a long way in focusing me on the task at hand.
